  • 1 Cup confectioner's sugar
  • 2 Tablespoons milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F and line a baking sheet with a silicone mat.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together all-purpose flour, white whole wheat flour, brown sugar, baking powder, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt.
  3. Cut in cold butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  4. In a separate bowl, mix milk, egg, and vanilla extract; then combine with the dry ingredients until just mixed.
  5. Gently fold in chopped apples.
  6. Drop heaping 1/4 cup-fulls onto the prepared baking sheet.

  8. Prepare the glaze by whisking confectioner's sugar, milk, and vanilla extract; brush over fritters before broiling for an additional 2-4 minutes.
