- 3/4 cup hot water
- 2 large eggs
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
- 3 large egg whites
- 1 cup dark brown sugar
- 1 1/2 cups unsalted butter
- 1/4 cup dulce de leche
- 2 oz dark chocolate
- 2 oz heavy whipping cream
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and line two 9-inch round cake pans with parchment paper.
- In one bowl, sift together flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking soda, baking powder, and salt. In another bowl, mix vegetable oil, buttermilk, hot water, eggs, and vanilla until smooth.
- Combine wet and dry ingredients gently.
- Pour into prepared pans and bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean. Cool for 10 minutes before transferring to a rack.
- For the frosting, melt chocolate with heavy cream over low heat; whisk in dulce de leche.
