  • 1 lb lean ground beef
  • 8 oz linguine or fettuccine noodles
  • 4 tsp fresh grated ginger
  • 6 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup low-sodium beef broth
  • 1/2 cup low-sodium soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup hoisin sauce
  • Green onions (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Cook the ground beef in a skillet over medium-high heat until browned, about 5 minutes. Add ginger and garlic during the last 2 minutes.
  2. Boil the linguine or fettuccine noodles according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  3. Drain excess fat from the skillet, then add brown sugar, beef broth, soy sauce, hoisin sauce, black pepper, and optional red pepper flakes. Stir well.
  4. In a small bowl, mix cornstarch with water to create a slurry. Pour into the skillet and simmer until thickened (about 2-3 minutes).
  5. Add the cooked noodles to the skillet and toss to coat evenly in the sauce. Let sit for 2-3 minutes to absorb flavors.
  6. Serve garnished with sliced green onions.
