Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • ½ cup confectioners' sugar
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup unsalted butter (softened)
  • 1 cup firmly packed brown sugar
  • 1 cup dark corn syrup
  • ½ cup butter (melted)
  • 4 large eggs
  • 2 cups chopped pecans
  • 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F. Line a 13×9-inch baking pan with aluminum foil, leaving some overhang for easy removal later. Lightly spray the foil with nonstick cooking spray.
  2. In a mixing bowl, whisk together flour, confectioners' sugar, and salt. Cut in softened butter using a pastry blender until the mixture resembles sandy crumbs.
  3. Press the crust mixture into the prepared pan evenly and bake for 15 to 18 minutes until lightly browned.
  4. For the filling, combine brown sugar, corn syrup, melted butter, eggs, chopped pecans, and chocolate chips in another bowl; mix until well combined.
  5. Pour the filling over the baked crust and return to the oven for an additional 25 to 30 minutes until set.
  6. Allow to cool completely before lifting out and cutting into squares.
