  • 16 string cheese (cut in half crosswise)
  • 1/3 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 cups Italian style breadcrumbs
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 teaspoons milk
  • Oil for frying
  • 2 tablespoons chopped parsley
  • 1 cup marinara sauce

Instructions

  1. Set up three bowls: one with flour, another with beaten eggs mixed with milk, and the third with seasoned breadcrumbs.
  2. Lightly coat each cheese stick in flour, dip in the egg mixture, then roll in breadcrumbs.
  3. For extra crunch, repeat the egg and breadcrumb coating.
  4. Place coated sticks on a parchment-lined sheet pan and freeze for at least 2 hours.
  5. Heat oil to 350°F (175°C) in a deep pot and fry cheese sticks until golden brown (about 2-3 minutes).
